What's Official Thus Far Empty What's Official Thus Far

Just going to use this thread to keep track of what's been agreed on/is official as time goes by. Locked for the sake of keeping it neat, I'll update it as more things become clear.

The System:

- Dice: D% MOTHERFUCKERS, THIS IS SOME DARK HERESY SHIT UP IN HERE

- Combat:

Initiative: When combat is initiated, everyone involved rolls 1d10 and adds to it their Int or Agi modifier (Whichever is higher). The turn order goes from the highest value to the lowest value, and the order remains the same until the end of combat.

The Turn: Each turn consists of two Actions. There are three different kinds of Actions: Movement, Attack, and Free Actions, which do not consume one of the two Action slots.

- Stats:

Size: The larger you are, the easier you are to hit - But you're likely to be stronger and have more armor. In addition, you can only grapple with creatures within a certain size range of yourself.

Microscopic: (Might not be used)

Minuscule: Under 1mm in length
Tiny: 1-3mm
Diminutive: 3-5mm
Small: 5-10mm

Average: 1-3 cm
Large: 3-5cm
Huge: 5-10cm

Mighty:10-20cm
Enormous: 20-30cm
Massive: 30-50cm
Giant: 50-100cm

Behemoth (Enemy only): 1m+
Titanic (Enemy only): From this size upwards, it don't make any difference.

Flex/Dex: Your ability to bring things to bear when in a grapple - The more flexible you are, the more likely you are to get in a hit with your stinger than if your carapace is nothing but heavy chitin with a few links in it. The more armor you have, the less flexibility you have, and vice versa.

Strength: Holding a creature in a grapple, how hard you can crush them with your claws, how much damage your bite does. Not always equivalent to size, as the ant can show.

Vitality: Some bugs are tougher then others. They can last longer from poisons, they can take more physical damage before they expire, etc. May be related to size, but not always. Roaches would have this in spades. Similar to Constitution/Stamina in other systems.

Chitin/Exoskeleton/Armour: Some species would have very little (larvae of most species would have 0, butterflies and moths might have 5) but others would have lots. Basically damage reduction/negation of physical damage. Large species would likely depend on this to avoid being swarmed by heaps of little bugs too small for them to deal with. Some physical damage would have to be done in order for many poisons to work (stings/bites would need to peirce chitin to work for example), so it would help against stinging/venomous creatures too, to a degree.

Agility: Some species are faster. This is movement speed, flat out. Larger species will get more as a rule, but not always. Also, ability to dodge, etc.

Social: Ability to work as a team. Social insects have it in spades, lone predators would have nearly none. Woodlice, and other non-social species that aren't predators might get some. Gives bonuses to assisting, etc. Makes groups of ants a scary prospect, and army ants terrifying en masse.

Int: Because some bugs are smarter then others. Will be a general mental stat, some wasps that use pebbles for tools would have high int, allowing them to use simple tools (pebbles, sticks, etc. NO CRAFTAN), etc. Might be used by spiders to make traps and webs better, etc. Quite possibly going to be the dump stat for a lot of straight out fighter bugs.

Character Creation:

- Creating Your Character:

- Traits:

Traits are passive parts of a creature that provide the benefits associated with them constantly, instead of requiring activation. Examples include a hard shell, the ability to understand the pheremones of a number of species, camoflauge, resistance to heat/cold/toxins, etc.

- Abilities:

Abilities are things a creature is capable of performing conciously. Examples include flight, biting, shooting acid, stinging, etc.

The full list of traits and abilities are too long to post here, instead look at: https://arthropocalypse.rpg-board.net/t30-traits-abilities#6
